Bugesera biking prospects Jean d’Amour Ishimwe and Emelyne Kanyange emerged winners of the third version of the 2026 Play Day Biking Race held on the Discipline of Desires in Ntarama on Sunday.
Organised by Bugesera Biking Staff (BCT), the occasion introduced collectively 180 younger riders competing throughout 5 age classes: Underneath-11 (Pupilles), Underneath-13 (Benjamins), Underneath-15 (Minimes), Underneath-17 (Cadets) and Underneath-19 (Juniors).
The competitors marked the third version of the occasion following its profitable launch in 2025. It was organised as a part of the “Play Day” celebrations whereas selling youth growth by sport underneath the “Energy to Pedals” programme.
Within the general standings, Ishimwe claimed victory within the boys’ closing race forward of Valentin Iduhamahoro and Harmless Bukuru. Within the ladies’ class, Kanyange secured first place, adopted by Ancille Uwase Uwizeyimana and Céline Mutuyimana.
Within the Underneath-17 class, Carine Tumukunde received the ladies’ race whereas Régis Niyogisubizo topped the boys’ competitors.

The Underneath-15 class noticed Alice Uwababyeyi and Kévin Iradukunda emerge victorious within the ladies’ and boys’ races respectively.

Within the Underneath-13 class, Kerenia Akarabo Keza and Rodrigue Iraduka completed first of their respective races, whereas David Manzi Cyubahiro and Nollia Mutuzo claimed victory within the Underneath-11 class.
The “Energy to Pedals” programme, launched in January 2025, is a year-long initiative designed to nurture younger biking expertise whereas selling group engagement by sport.
The programme at present helps 180 youngsters aged between 11 and 20, with ladies accounting for 60 % of contributors from Ntarama and neighbouring sectors.
