The Rwanda Defence Drive (RDF) on Friday, July 10, honoured three retiring generals – Maj Gen Emmanuel Bayingana, Maj Gen Vincent Gatama, and Brig Gen Albert Rugambwa – throughout its 14th send-off ceremony held at RDF Headquarters in Kimihurura.

In keeping with the Ministry of Defence, the occasion, which was held to honour army personnel who’ve reached retirement age and people whose service contracts have come to an finish, was presided over by the Minister of Defence, Juvenal Marizamunda, on behalf of President Paul Kagame, who can be the Commander-in-Chief of the Rwanda Defence Drive. Talking on behalf of the Commander-in-Chief, Marizamunda expressed gratitude to the retirees for his or her “devoted service to the nation.” He recommended their position within the liberation battle, stopping the 1994 Genocide towards the Tutsi, and rebuilding the nation.
