EASF specialists meet in Kigali to harmonise air operations pointers


The Jap Africa Standby Drive (EASF) convened a five-day workshop in Kigali to validate key air operations paperwork geared toward strengthening regional preparedness and coordination in humanitarian help and catastrophe response.

The workshop, operating from June 15 to 19, introduced collectively technical specialists from EASF member states, together with Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya, and Ethiopia.

Members will evaluate and harmonise the Mixed Air Operations Guide, Commonplace Working Procedures (SOPs), and a Memorandum of Understanding on Humanitarian Help and Pure Catastrophe Assist, based on Rwanda Defence Drive (RDF).

The assembly was formally opened by Brig Gen Louis Kanobayire, Commandant of the Rwanda Air Drive College, who represented the RDF Chief of Defence Employees.

The meeting aims to validate the Combined Air Operations Manual, Standard Operating Procedures, and Memorandum of Understanding for Humanitarian Assistance and Natural Disaster.

Talking on the opening ceremony, Kanobayire stated the workshop displays the area's collective dedication to enhancing cooperation and enhancing preparedness to reply successfully to humanitarian emergencies and pure disasters.

He famous that validating the operational paperwork would contribute to constructing stronger regional air capabilities and facilitate coordinated responses throughout crises requiring joint motion.

The EASF is among the regional parts of the African Standby Drive, a key pillar of the African Peace and Safety Structure. It’s mandated to plan, coordinate, and undertake peace assist operations inside the Jap African area.
