The federal government has reclaimed six industrial park plots from traders who didn’t develop them throughout the required timelines, in a transfer aimed toward curbing land hypothesis and dashing up industrialisation.

This was introduced on Monday, August 3, by the Minister of Commerce and Trade, Antoine Kajangwe, throughout a Senate plenary session that reviewed industrial parks growth.

Kajangwe mentioned the plots embody 5 in Rwamagana Industrial Park and one in Musanze Industrial Park. The land can be reallocated to traders able to implement their initiatives.

“The six plots whose possession has been revoked are only the start. We have now many different traders who haven’t met the timelines of their contracts, and the place vital, we are going to take the land away and allocate it to these prepared to take a position,” Kajangwe informed senators.
