Uganda Premier League aspect UPDF FC endorsed an annual funds of Ug.Shs 3.8 billion for the season 2026/2027 at their Annual assembly that was held on Sunday at Ndere Cultural Centre in Kampala.
The military aspect revealed that the funds handed of UGX 3.8 Billion will cater for the UPDF FC, UPDF Girls FC, and the UPDF Junior Staff (U17) subsequent season.
It needs to be famous that UPDF’s fundamental supply of funding is the Ministry of Defence and Veteran Affairs (MODVA) and Wazzalendo SACCO.
The military plans to deal with the funding gaps tackle funding gaps by partnerships and attracting new sponsors.
UPDF plans to speculate extra in recruiting high quality gamers, retaining key expertise, and strengthening squads throughout all groups.
The AGM was attended by representatives from the Federation of Uganda Soccer Associations (FUFA) and the Uganda Premier League (UPL), together with FUFA delegate Aisha Nalule and UPL Chief Govt Officer Bernard Bainamani.
On the AGM, Brigadier Basic Richard Karemire was elected Chairman of the membership, taking on from Lieutenant Colonel Andrew Kulu, who beforehand served as chairman and can now work because the Vice Chairman.
Lieutenant Sheldon Turyamureeba is the Chief Govt Officer, changing Lance Corporal Walter Mambo.
In the meantime, the membership’s Board of Administrators includes Lieutenant Muhereza, representing the Particular Forces Command on behalf of Colonel Gilbert Owamagyezi; Colonel Robert Ngabirano, representing the Air Pressure; Main Kategaya; Captain Phionah Kanohire; Captain Lutwama; and Captain Katongole, who represents the followers.
Final season, UPDF FC beneath the stewardship of coach Alex Gitta, completed with 22 factors as they overcame relegation.
